Code Vein 2: Key Item Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide
In Code Vein II, Key Items are mandatory for story progression, unlocking secret areas (like the "Depths" equivalent), or completing the Timeline Decision missions.
There are multiple primary Key Items in the game; however, some items are "mutually exclusive" depending on which era you are currently exploring.
Similar to the first game's Vestige system, the Old Key in the MagMell Ruins is highly missable. It is found in a small breakable barrel behind the Ancient Hunter's chest. If you do not pick it up before the "Crisis at MagMell" story event, the ruins will be destroyed, and you will be unable to access the Survivor's Journal in the post-game.
Many Key Items are hidden inside Map Jammers (pink-leaved trees). When you destroy a jammer, it often drops a Jammer Seed. These seeds are used at the Hub to buy "Depths Maps" from Davis.
